ROOT

Root: for the natural symbolism of trees, and because the definitions of root include: to establish deeply and firmly, to be the origin of something, and to support and provide nourishment. This is reflective of realising our place in nature, to feel a sense of nourishment from the outdoors, and to create a deep connection with the natural world that supports us as individuals and encourages a sense of love and care for nature.

These roots can help us find our routes both on and off the trail, as these experiences and our relationship with the rest of nature become rooted through us.

WAYMARKING

Waymarking: because the outdoors help waymark our paths, both literally and emotionally. Time with nature guides us, whether through a cairn or a moment of inspiration, following the contours or finding comfort, feeling joy or discovering landmarks, noticing nature or knowing self. Finding all kinds of places,  and finding our place. Figuring out the route, and figuring out our own route.

Being waymarked by nature.
